Book Review by Frances Adams Moore

A modern day novel set in today’s time frame, phrased in the current vernacular. The story of a long journey over difficult territory, a meaning of life and of one’s own life in particular. The final recognition: Life has no higher cause, nor higher meaning than love. An account well crafted and a thoroughly satisfactory read.

Post Book Signing

On a dark, cold, windy, rain soaked evening David and crew hosted his first book signing event. The foul weather didn't detour the fifty friends and interested people that showed up for the event. The evening was set with Chef Gary Fletcher providing, crab cakes, BBQ chicken wings, cheeses, fruit, an assortment of other eatables as well as fine wines and beer. Background music was provided by two classical musicans. The crowd couldn't have been any more kind, polite and patient as I did conducted his first read and Q & A session.

Overall everyone had a good time and considering the wet weather. Thirty books were sold in one and one-half hours. I wish to thank all those folks that attended. I'm already looking forward to the next signing. I will keep you posted on when and where that will be.

North County Times Interview

The North County Times called today after reading The Thirteenth Time Zone and interviewed me for a news story. The reporter, Cecil, did a fifteen minute interview and asked a lot of good questions about the novel and my personal life. He said that it would be a 600 word story. I'll keep you posted of what happen and perhaps print some of the article when I get my grubby mitts on it.

The La Jolla Light Newspaper

The local newspaper came out today and did a picture shoot and will follow up with a book review. The La Jolla Light is a very small newspaper that has reported the local news for many years to the La Jolla residents. I really like the small town papers and the people reporting the news. So very different than dealing with the huge mega gaints newspapers and news media. I'll keep you posted as to what the book review states.

I read the novel in one night!

I read this novel cover to cover in one night!
The Thirteenth Time Zone was a thrilling read! The novel allowed me the vicarious excitement of traveling to places and discovering cultures that I would never have the chance to encounter otherwise. This story resonates with anyone who has ever felt disillusioned and sought a sense of peace and sanctity in an otherwise chaotic world.

Siddartha with a badge

Hi David,

Your book came in the mail Monday. I finished it last night. What a great read! I know how hard it is to do this and I just want to tell you congratulations on a job well done. I do not know your personal history, but the story sure seemed autobiographical to me. Maybe that is what made it so interesting. Siddartha with a badge. Once again,I am so impressed. Good luck with it and I look forward to the next one.

Reader's comments on the novel

Having just finished Dave Jebb's book, "The Thirteenth Time zone", I am moved by the excellence of this, his first published work.

In his book, he has captured the gritty, insane existence of life as a big-city street cop. Police work is not for the meek; it takes hard work and dedication to become a police officer. It takes even more courage to leave it all behind… The epiphany which led Dave’s fictional character “Owen” to leave the force in a search for himself is remarkable.

One can only imagine what a world tour with only minimal gear, funds, or planning would be like. That is, until you read this book. Dave Jebb conveys in an extraordinary fashion the excitement, doldroms, challenges, and providence Owen experiences as he travels the globe with little more than the clothes on his back.

As I begin a new journey in my own life, I have found this book to be an inspiration and a tremendous chronicle to life on the road. Thanks Dave, for sharing your story with us.
